Selency is the leading marketplace in Europe dedicated to pre-owned furniture and home decor. The platform curates each item posted by their antique dealers on their website and mobile app.

"A young and reactive team that helped us quickly adapt to our needs. They are always there with solutions and never leave you without answers."

The challenge

Selency had outgrown its previous image provider. Technical and pricing constraints with Imgix limited how efficiently the team could optimize and deliver visuals across web and app. They also needed a setup that connected directly to their Amazon S3 bucket to simplify warm-up and reduce complexity. Finally, cache behavior required tighter control to cut origin requests and improve page speed.

Technical and pricing constraints with the former supplier (Imgix)
Need for a direct Amazon S3 connection to simplify image warm-up
Limited cache control leading to unnecessary origin hits

The solution

Selency adopted Cloudimage and connected it directly to their Amazon S3 storage. The team activated a custom CNAME to align delivery with their domain and improve SEO and indexation. Custom cache rules were configured to reduce origin load while keeping images fast and consistent across devices. The implementation took less than a week from setup to production, requiring minimal changes for the engineering team.

Direct connection to Amazon S3 for smooth warm-up
Custom CNAME to align delivery and boost SEO
Cache tuning to reduce origin hits
Go‑live in under one week

The result

With Cloudimage in place, Selency simplified asset warm-up via a direct S3 connection and gained better control over caching. They achieved a threefold improvement in cache hit ratio, leading to significantly fewer origin requests and faster, more reliable delivery. By serving media behind a custom CNAME, the team also improved SEO signals and accelerated indexation, aligning performance benefits with brand consistency.
